Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

So Allie and I decided that we wanted season tickets to the Hale Center Theatre in Orem for Christmas. Now, normally, the shows are mediocre at best. Occasionally a production will blow us away, but more regularly, we leave saying, "At least the costumes were good."

Last night, as my mom was incapacitated, and couldn't drive, Brandon was the lucky soul who got to drive me and Allie to the performance of "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". He decided that I, the most directionally challenged person of ALL TIME, would be the navigator. So I'm sitting there, reading the directions from Google maps, trying to get us to the theatre. Well, we get to Orem just fine. But I'm stating to think that just maybe, we're not going the right direction. Before long, we reach the exit to head to Provo Canyon. Okay, obviously we are not going the right direction. So we call my dad, trying to get directions. We're already about five minutes late for the show, and I'm starting to hyperventilate a little bit. Yes, I have issues with being lost, and not knowing how I'm going to get out. So eventually we make it to the theatre. Luckily, we could get right in, and we missed very little of the opening number.

This show was AMAZING. I laughed so much, the first thing I did when I got home was ran to the bathroom. This show was not only the epitomy of classiness, but it was extremely hilarious, and had a very good story line, and music. The actors were also extremely spectacular. Not a single one of them did I question why they were cast in the role they were.

I would highly recommend that if you have the time to go, to DO IT. Afterall, it is playing until March 23.

Blessings

As I have set up home base in my bedroom (my bed has become my desk, table, couch, and sometimes sleeping place) I have been enjoying having my kids "stop in" and visit with me when they return home from school. It has given me a chance to catch up on what is going on with them and listen to the little details of their day that I usually don't get to hear. There is something lost if you don't catch them right when they walk in the door. I am grateful for this blessing.

Being called as Young Women's President four days before foot surgery, not knowing when I was going to be able to actually be there was also a little daunting. How greatful I have been for the time at home to get things organized, for the time to study my handbooks, communicating with my presidency, and all the other things it takes to get things going!! It has become a part-time job for the past few weeks. I am grateful for this blessing.

My family has been the recipients of meals (lunches and dinners), subs at school and young women's, cards, phone calls, visits, housecleaning and prayers. I am so grateful for this blessing.

Yesterday we received news about Brooke and Brad who both had multiple doctors visits, blood drawn and other tests last week. Brad had a CT scan Tuesday to reveal MULTIPLE kidney stones. Brooke tested positive for celiac disease. We will find out more on these results next week when they both go back to the doctor. I HOPE we can find the blessings in these new challenges.

My View

This has been my lovely view for the past 18 days. Yes - I bet you wish you could be me! Notice the olympics on the tv in the background. At least there is something good on tv to watch.

The pink cast came off yesterday, stitches came out and a NEW cast went back on, this time for FOUR weeks. Four weeks from yesterday is my birthday! As the receptionist announced the date, I told her that was my birthday. She asked me if I wanted to wait until the next day for my appointment. I assured her, having the cast off would be a great present. Happy Birthday to me! I requested a Westlake BLUE cast this time as Brooke said I should, but no such luck. The nurse did dig up from the basement a beautiful Donny Osmond purple cast. At least it matches my phone:)
